We were invited to attend the formal commissioning of the ship, the Navy's newest class of amphibious assault ships. It was a great ceremoney, and we were even able to go on a tour. It was awesome! Ex-President George Bush and acting Deputy secretary of Defense Gordon England were the main speakers at the ceremony.
